SUMMARY:BABI/DDRC Training
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBabies Adaptive Behavior Inventory (BABI): The BABI Observation Template provides a comprehensive view of the adaptive functioning of the newborn and young infant. \nInformation from the observation and the structured conversation with the primary caregiver provides evaluators\, service coordinators\, early intervention providers and other community professionals with valuable information regarding infant adaptive function during formative early months of the infant’s life. \nThe BABI is based on Als (1982) synactive theory and addresses the evidence-based areas of neurodevelopmental organization necessary during the first few months after birth to lay a sound foundation for later\, more typically recognized developmental milestones. \nThe BABI includes six foundational domains that are necessary to support high-risk infants in the organization of their physiologic and behavioral systems.  It was designed mainly for the infant born with or at risk for special health and/or developmental needs and is based on the assumption that early regulatory efforts by the newborn and young infant underlie the transition from the uterine to extrauterine environments and provides a foundation for later development. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nREGISTERATION IS CLOSED – PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU WOULD LIKE US TO BRING THIS TRAINING TO YOUR ORGANIZATION/HOSPITAL.\nONLINE CLASS MATERIALS ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN A PASSWORD PROTECTED FILE. IT HAS BEEN EMAILED TO ALL PARTICPANTS.\n\nBABI TRAINING IS A FOUR-STEP PROCESS:\nPhase 1 – BABI Training Materials and Videos\nPhase 2 -Training Days – virtual and/or in-person training over two days \nPhase 3 – BABI in clinical practice for several months \nPhase 4 – Training Day 3 is at approximately six months
